The circulatory system of a starfish is divided into three rings. One ring around the mouth, one ring around the digestive system, and one near it's "aboral surface" (genital ring). The heart of a starfish beats about six times a minute and runs along a vertical channel that connects all the rings. The blood of the starfish passes through the gonads of each arm. The blood of starfish also does not contain a pigment.
